Andrew is a co-founder and Senior Director at Point 2, with over 15 years of experience working on Daylight & Sunlight and Rights to Light issues and in doing so has built up an extensive portfolio of work.

Andrew is a Chartered Building Surveyor and his experience includes advising on other neighbourly matter issues such as the Party Wall Act and crane/scaffolding oversailing.  Recent clients include Land Securities, Berkeley Homes, Barratt Homes and Sainsbury’s Supermarkets.

Andrew enjoys sailing and messing around with boats in Suffolk and during the annual holiday in Cornwall.  As well as enjoying many country pursuits, Andrew is a keen DIY’er and has built up an extensive range of tools most of which still lie in their boxes unused.

Liam is Co-Founder and Senior Director at Point 2. He has advised clients over the length and breadth of the country and he enjoys site visits in Yorkshire, particularly on a Friday morning.

Over the past 9 years, his work has included a new build private-rented portfolio of 5,000 units and resolving Rights to Light issues surrounding the proposed 270,000sqft 80 Fenchurch Street Site.

He regularly undertakes expert witness work for planning inquiries in connection with Daylight & Sunlight matters.

Outside the office Liam is a Reserve Army Officer serving with the Royal Engineers. He enjoys the occasional shoot, flying light aircraft, walking in the Yorkshire dales and his yearly trip to compete on the Cresta Run.

Nick is a Co-Founder and Senior Director of Point 2 and has advised industry leading developers and architects on some of the largest planning applications submitted in London.

He works extensively with the country’s major house builders, property companies and investment funds with a focus on providing concise, commercially focused Daylight & Sunlight and Rights to Light advice.

Nick is working closely with the GLA on a research project into defining alternative Daylight and Sunlight standards for land in and around Regeneration and Opportunity areas and is a regular speaker to industry bodies such as The Westminster Property Association and City Property Association.

Nick’s interests revolve around sport and he is a dedicated but despondent supporter of Portsmouth FC. He’s a big fan of golf and rugby although lacks ability for either. Nick likes to holiday with friends and family, with South East Asia being the destination of choice.

Paul is a Senior Director at Point 2, heading up the Research and Development Department with Dr. Malcolm Macpherson.

Paul is the development architect of ‘SOL’, the Right to Light and Daylight/Sunlight software utilised by Waterslade.

Along with his research and development role, Paul has a great deal of experience providing consultancy advice to a wide range of clients.

Paul is a keen yachtsman to the extent that in his former life as a Naval Architect he hand built and successfully sailed a 60’ steel yacht around the world (with some help from his friends). Sailing is still a passion of Paul’s today and he is keen to open a branch of the business in Antigua one day.

Malcolm is a Senior Director at Point 2, with a doctorate of Philosophy in Physics from Merton College, Oxford. He also held a Junior Research Fellowship at Christ Church, Oxford.

Along with Paul Fletcher, he leads the Research and Development Department at Point 2.

Malcolm is the co-author of  ‘SOL’, the rights of light and daylight/sunlight software. The software has evolved over the last 20 years to become recognised as the leading piece of software in the market. Malcolm has since pioneered and created Point 2’s bespoke Quantum software, which launched in 2015, instantly becoming the sector’s most advanced Rights to Light and Daylight/Sunlight analysis platform.

Malcolm enjoys playing piano and guitar in his spare time, and can frequently be found dragging his family up the hills of Scotland and Cumbria.

Christopher is a Senior Director at Point 2 and heads up the Party Wall and Neighbourly Matters department.

Christopher and his team’s unique skill set provides clients with an early warning of key development factors which often restrict or can even prevent a scheme from being implemented.  Their expertise in both Party Wall related issues and generic Neighbourly Matters is often the difference between a scheme succeeding, both physically and financially, and failing.

Christopher believes in preparation, preparation, preparation and this is reflected in his attitude to work and life. He is known to spend longer getting his tackle ready to fish and talking about what he will catch than actually wetting a line!

Matt is a Senior Director at Point 2 with over 17 years’ experience specialising in the field of Rights to Light and Daylight and Sunlight, working on both residential and commercial developments, as well as advising adjoining owners on Rights to Light infringements.

Throughout his professional career, Matt has gained valuable experience on both the technical and surveying aspects of Rights to Light, providing strategic advice on a large number of complex and high profile developments.

In his spare time, Matt enjoys winding down with leisurely dog walks across Kent and East Sussex and socialising with friends and family. When the opportunity arises, he is a keen sportsman playing both football and hockey, whilst also holding a regular season ticket at his beloved Crystal Palace FC. More recently, most of Matt’s time is spent enjoying quality time with his wife and two young boys.

Matthew joined Point 2 shortly after its inception, having worked with two of the company’s co-founders at his former firm.

Matthew has over 12 years’ experience within the land surveying industry, which has seen him become a chartered land surveyor, as well as create and head a specialist Measured Surveying department at Point 2.

Matthew specialises in providing a range of measured surveying solutions to the firm’s clients to aid in the planning and development of new scheme proposals in both London and across the UK.  A major part of this service is to undertake specialist rights to light style surveys which involve laser scanning potential development sites with a very short lead-in period to allow both rapid and reliable 3D modelling and advice based on measured survey data.

Outside of work Matthew loves all things sport, playing weekly league cricket throughout the summer. He is also a rugby, football and Formula 1 fan. To relax he enjoys weekend breaks to the country and holidays to the Caribbean.

Stuart is a Director at Point 2 in the Measured Surveying department with over 20 years’ experience within the Land Surveying/Geomatics sector.

Stuart has a vast range of experience within different sectors including Property, Infrastructure, Defence, Healthcare and even the Film/TV Industry. His roles have taken him all over the UK and also further afield including Eastern Europe, Egypt and Mexico.

Stuart’s appointment in 2024 signalled the company’s intent to grow the measured survey service and to build upon the great success over the first 10 years of trading, furthering our expertise in Rights to Light scanning and the Scan to BIM market and developing other measurement related services with the latest technology.

In his spare time you will usually find Stuart on the golf course desperately trying (and mostly failing) to lower his handicap. He is trying to play as many golf courses in the Top 100 UK list as possible, but still has a long way to go. Other interests include watching Luton Town Football Club, Cricket and Rugby, enjoys travelling whenever possible and also walking his two dogs.

Tom is a Director at Point 2, combining both his consultancy and technical expertise within the Rights to Light  and Daylight & Sunlight team.

Having joined Waterslade in 1999, Tom has an extensive and in depth knowledge of the technical aspects of Right to Light and Daylight and Sunlight, and has provided consultancy advice to a wide range of clients.

During the last 17 years he has worked on every scale of project from small domestic extensions to major estate regeneration and large commercial redevelopment, as well advising private individuals affected by neighbouring developments.

Outside the office Tom plays football and squash weekly with varying degrees of success. He also enjoys camping and snowboarding, and has been known to combine the two, taking his tent to the Alps on a number of occasions.

William is a Director at Point 2 with 10 years’ experience providing daylight & sunlight and rights of light advice. Over recent years he has provided strategic advice to major developments in the City of London as well as across the country.

He also advises on the impacts of Solar Glare reflected from the facades of new buildings and its impact on road and rail users and residents as well as the effects of Light Pollution at night both in city centres where residents are impacted and, in the countryside, where the impacts are to the natural environment. William is a fellow of the Chartered Management Institute.

Outside the office William enjoys running cross country with Epson and Ewell Harriers, he tutors philosophy classes and drags his family around the cultural sites of Europe.

Elliot is a Director at Point 2 with a broad range of experience having worked in the industry for over 10 years, specialising in Daylight, Sunlight and Rights to Light matters.

Throughout his career, Elliot has worked on a diverse range of projects from high profile City towers to large masterplan schemes which has enabled him to provide every project with the bespoke advice and strategy required to navigate complicated planning constraints and Rights to Light negotiations.

Outside of the office, Elliot can be found in the Hertfordshire countryside walking his dog, spending time with friends and family or on the occasional shoot.

Tom is a Director at Point 2 with over 17 years’ experience specialising in Party Wall and Neighbourly Matters and has vast experience in dealing with large complex schemes throughout London.

He prides himself on providing detailed advice at an early stage on projects, so risks can be mitigated and opportunities identified, ensuring the successful delivery of a development. In 2016, Tom successfully passed his APC and is now a member of the RICS.

Outside of work, Tom is a keen sportsman and has turned his hand at pretty much everything over the years including running the marathon and white collar boxing. He now prefers playing more gentlemanly sports such as golf and following the British and Irish Lions when they tour the southern hemisphere every 4 years.

James is a Director at Point 2 with extensive experience specialising in Party Wall and Neighbourly Matters with particular expertise in dealing with large complex schemes throughout London.

James joined Point 2 as an Associate Director in 2023, where he has since excelled in delivering high quality, strategic Party Wall and Neighbourly matters advice. He graduated in 2009 with Honours in Sports Science and Culture from the University of Roehampton, and has been working in the Party Wall/Neighbourly Matters industry since 2010. James has been an Associate Member of the RICS (AssocRICS) since achieving this status in 2018.

In his spare time, James is a keen runner and plays many sports including tennis. He is an avid Leeds United fan, but doesn’t get to many games these days as his weekends are very much taken up spending valuable time with his young family.

With a background in Architecture and Animation, John has over 12 years’ experience within the industry, having previously managed the CAD team at another Rights to Light practice in London, before joining Point 2 as the Head of CAD in 2014.

John manages the Technical Team at our Oxford office and helps to oversee the technical workload across the company.

Outside of work John likes to spend time with his family and is a human climbing frame and trampoline for his kids. He is also a follower of Tottenham Hotspur FC and enjoys sampling the various Indian restaurant offerings in his local town.

Katie is a Senior Associate Director at Point 2 specialising in the field of Rights to Light and Daylight and Sunlight.

She has a keen interest in Rights to Light strategy and negotiations and particularly enjoys working with clients to develop and execute mitigation strategies, helping them to de-risk development. Katie joined the industry 8 years ago and has built up a breadth of experience advising on a large number of developments, covering master plans, roof top extensions and everything in between.

In her spare time Katie is an avid reader and delves into English period classics as well as true crime time after time. Her favourite authors are Wilbur Smith, George Orwell, and Anthony Burgess, to name but a few. When she can tear herself away from a good book, Katie attempts to keep fit by running, regularly taking part in her local Park Run (although she admits she is a fair weather runner). Katie dreams to one day pick up the pen herself to write short-stories and novellas.

Andrew is a Senior Associate Director at Point 2 within the Rights to Light team.

Andrew comes from an architectural background and has over 7 years’ experience providing Daylight & Sunlight and Rights to Light advice on behalf of residential and commercial developments within London and across the wider UK.

He has extensive experience in the field having worked on a wide and diverse range of projects which has enabled him to provide each project with the bespoke advice and strategy required to navigate tricky planning constraints and Right to Light negotiations. He is currently advising on some of the biggest developments occurring within London.

In his spare time, Andrew is a keen sportsman willing to try his hand at anything, with football and golf being the sports of choice. Other than that he enjoys travelling, live music and exploring London’s food scene.

Martyn is an Associate Director of Point 2, specialising in Rights of Light and Daylight/Sunlight matters. With a strong academic background and almost a decade of industry experience, Martyn helps clients navigate complex projects, balancing regulatory requirements with design ambitions.

From safeguarding historic London landmarks to optimising natural light for new residential developments, Martyn combines technical precision with creative problem-solving, delivering tailored and pragmatic solutions with confidence.

Outside of work, Martyn has a passion for architecture and history, often exploring London’s hidden gems or enjoying quiet hours at the British Library. He also maintains an active lifestyle and enjoys meeting with friends, bringing the same energy and discipline to his personal pursuits as he does to his professional projects.

Nicholas is a Senior Associate Director Point 2 specialising in Rights to Light and Daylight & Sunlight for both commercial and residential projects.

Nicholas Joined Point 2 in 2017 and has experience within both the consultancy and surveying aspects of Rights to Light and Daylight & Sunlight, providing strategic advice on a large number of high profile projects.  Nicholas has worked on every scale of project from single dwellings to large commercial developments and Master Plans; he also acts for adjoining owners, providing advice and guidance on the impacts of a development on their amenity, as well as negotiating Right to Light settlements.

In his spare time Nicholas is a Royal Naval Reserve Officer having previously served in the submarine service (it is likely this is where his appreciation of natural light originated).  When not involved in operations, Nicholas spends his time perpetually renovating has grade II listed home (it is like painting the Forth Bridge), skiing and shooting when able, and enjoying his young family.

Monika is a Senior Associate Director at Point 2 with expertise in Rights to Light and Daylight & Sunlight matters.

Over the past decade she has been providing strategic advise on a diverse range of developments, guiding clients from the pre-acquisition stage to finalising Rights to Light agreements. With an engineering background and in-depth subject knowledge, Monika is well-positioned to identify potential issues early in the project lifecycle and design optimal solutions to mitigate planning and legal risks. She is dedicated to maximising the potential of development sites whilst addressing the concerns of adjoining property owners and ensuring their rights are respected.

Beyond work, Monika is passionate about psychology and enjoys being challenged by her two sons, whether on the sky slopes, the racetrack or skydiving!

James is an Associate Director at Point 2. He advises on Rights of Light and daylight & sunlight for major development schemes, mainly in central London but also across the UK.

James specializes in Rights of Light negotiations, strategically dealing with rights of light risks, and large infrastructure projects. James also has extensive experience in daylight and sunlight, helping to guide schemes through the design phase and on to achieving planning consent.

Outside of work, James is chairman and coach of a small amateur rugby club and is also a Cadet Force Adult Volunteer.

Andrew is a Senior Associate Director at Point 2 with over 8 years’ experience in daylight, sunlight and Rights to Light and has worked on a number of complex schemes throughout London.

Andrew has invaluable knowledge of daylight, sunlight and Rights to Light matters and is able to efficiently guide projects at any stage of their lifecycle, whether that be feasibility, through planning or advising on an appropriate

Rights of Light risk and strategy.

In his spare time, Andrew enjoys golf, spending time with his family and eating.

Matt is an Associate Director at Point 2 with over 10 years’ experience in Building Surveying specialising in Party Wall and Neighbourly Matters.

Matt has experience acting for both building owners and adjoining owners under the Party Wall Act as well as negotiating crane and scaffolding oversail licences. He has led on numerous large and complex developments across London providing detailed advice to Clients, both early on in the process and as matters progress, to ensure their project is successfully delivered.

In his spare time, Matt has a keen interest in whiskey and has visited many distilleries across Scotland over the years. He likes to stay reasonably fit by getting to the gym a few times a week and tries to spend time with friends and family as often as possible.

Elliot is an Associate Director at Point 2 and specialises in Rights to Light and Daylight and Sunlight matters across both the residential and commercial sector.

Elliot has diverse experience advising developers and adjoining owners on projects of different scales ranging from residential extensions to large masterplan schemes across the UK.

In his spare time, Elliot enjoys spending time with friends and family, staying active and playing sport – in particular, hockey, golf and squash

Luke is an Associate Director at Point 2 with more than 12 years’ experience in daylight & sunlight and Rights of Light, as well as other associated fields such as solar glint and glare.

Over the last decade, he has provided bespoke advice on a wide range of residential and commercial developments helping clients negotiate the pathway to planning. He has a particular interest in local authority regeneration developments and has worked with numerous local authorities to bring forward multiple schemes, helping to achieve planning permission for thousands of new homes across the capital.

Recently, he has worked on larger solar farm proposals, determining whether reflected solar energy could affect nearby residents, users of the road and rail networks and aircraft.

Luke enjoys live music, travelling, reading and cricket in his spare time and is a long-suffering Evertonian.
